CompTIA Security+ Training

The industry's standard entry point into cybersecurity. Our Security+ cohorts take IT and infrastructure staff through all five SY0-701 domains with hands-on, practitioner-led teaching — building a certified security baseline across your technical teams.

Overview

Security+ is where most security careers — and most organisational security baselines — begin. It is the credential that says a technologist understands threats, controls, architecture, and operations well enough to be trusted with them, and it is widely required in government-adjacent and regulated work.

Our Security+ cohorts are hands-on by design. Across five days, candidates work through every SY0-701 domain with labs and scenarios rather than slides, because the exam itself now tests doing as well as knowing — its performance-based questions simulate real tasks under time pressure.

The practice phase mirrors that: timed mocks with objective-level diagnostics show exactly where each candidate should spend revision time. We arrange cohorts on demand around your team’s calendar, bundle exam vouchers into corporate packages, and map each person’s progression beyond Security+ — so one certification becomes the start of a pathway, not the end of a course.

Who it's for

  • IT support, infrastructure, and network engineers adding security to their role
  • Early-career professionals moving into their first dedicated security position
  • Development and operations staff who need a certified security foundation
  • Organisations building a baseline of certified security competence across IT

What's covered

  • Domain 1 — General Security Concepts: controls, cryptography fundamentals, and zero trust
  • Domain 2 — Threats, Vulnerabilities, and Mitigations: attack types and how they're countered
  • Domain 3 — Security Architecture: securing infrastructure, cloud, and data
  • Domain 4 — Security Operations: monitoring, hardening, identity, and incident basics
  • Domain 5 — Security Programme Management and Oversight: governance, risk, and compliance foundations
  • Performance-based questions — hands-on exam items that simulate real tasks

Your journey, end to end

  1. Map & enrol

A short baseline assessment places each candidate against the SY0-701 objectives, so the cohort starts from what your team actually knows.

  2. Train

A five-day, hands-on bootcamp across all five domains — taught with labs and real scenarios, not slideware, so concepts stick as skills.

  3. Practise

Timed practice exams including performance-based questions, with objective-level diagnostics that focus each candidate's revision.

  4. Certify

We handle exam-voucher logistics and booking guidance, plus test-day strategy for the mixed multiple-choice and performance-based format.

  5. Beyond

Revision resources, retake support, and a progression path — Security+ is the launchpad toward CySA+, CCNA Security, cloud security credentials, and eventually CISSP.

Format & delivery

  • 5-day instructor-led bootcamp, onsite or live virtual
  • Cohorts arranged on demand around your team's calendar
  • Hands-on labs mapped to the SY0-701 exam objectives
  • Timed practice exams with objective-level score diagnostics
  • Exam-voucher bundling available for corporate packages

Outcomes

  • A certified security baseline across your IT and infrastructure teams
  • Staff who recognise and respond to common threats in their daily work
  • Candidates prepared for both multiple-choice and performance-based exam items
  • A foundation credential that anchors each person's longer security pathway

Frequently asked questions

Does Security+ require prior security experience?

No formal prerequisites. CompTIA recommends around two years of general IT experience, and the course assumes familiarity with networks and operating systems rather than security itself — which is why it works as a first security credential.

What's different about SY0-701?

The current exam version puts more weight on zero trust, cloud security, and current attack techniques, and retains performance-based questions that simulate hands-on tasks. Our labs and mocks are built against the SY0-701 objectives specifically.

How large can a cohort be?

We keep instructor-led cohorts small enough for hands-on work — typically 8 to 16 candidates. Larger populations are split into parallel or sequential cohorts with consistent content.

When does the training run?

On demand. We schedule the bootcamp around your team's availability — a single five-day block, or split delivery where releasing staff for a full week is difficult.

Where do people go after Security+?

Security+ is deliberately foundational. Typical next steps are CySA+ for analysts, network and cloud security credentials for infrastructure engineers, and, with experience, CISM or CISSP. We map each candidate's pathway as part of the programme.
